Dear Mr. President,

I'll keep this message short and to the point:

The invasion of Iraq was an unnecessary, immoral, illegal, irrational, ineffective and an unchristian action for which I honestly believe that you probably must repent before God and humanity should you hope to achieve your eternal salvation.

I do not claim absolute certainty of God's will. I cannot judge your heart and I pray for mercy upon you.

Nevertheless, the actions of your administration, and particularly your own personal decisions, are of such gravity that it seems impossible to me that a Christian could make those decisions in good conscience.

I write simply to appeal to your conscience to change course and embrace the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who taught us, his disciples, to meet violence with non-violent love.

Sincerely,

Joe Cecil
